::Mikee

Mikee began
his career in 1992 soon after his studies in Pennsylvania of
the United States earning a degree in Fine Arts and
Advertising, while after finishing with his army service.
Then it was when he stepped into Athens club scene, where he
first started in 1993 Djing at FACTORY club, one of the best
clubs of the region. It was a break through in the steady
waters of Athenian clubbing, introducing a new sound. With
his wide understanding of music, he began to experiment with
the harder side of dance scene. This had as a result to
introduce to the Greek audience the less known techno sound
of Britain, Europe and Detroit, mixed with tribal and
					percussive rhythms.

In 1994 he left Factory and became the resident Dj at the X
club maybe the biggest club of the Athenian night life
ever...There it was where he started playing techno - trance
					music.

For the next two years he joined Factory once again, to live
the club for good in 1997, where he formed QBASE with his
friend and partner Lorenzo and he's been playing ever since
alongside other residents like Teo and recently G. Skarax
and Terry Francis. Qbase is now under the roof of U-Matic
club in Athens, focusing in the techno - underground dance
					scene.

During his 8 years of experience, he played in the best
clubs in each corner of Greece and in few clubs out of the
					borders.

His musical identity is targeted to the underground techno
and tech-house scene, but he also has a unique ability to go
through between music styles and blend them with an amazing
way. Using his own words: I named my music style as
tribal-junky-groovy techno, filled with natural sounds that
arose the feelings. What I am trying to do is not to play
for the people, but, towards the people.

Focusing in his studio work, he produces tracks developing a
sound combining the hard edges of the underground with the
groovy and intelligent beats of Detroit techno. He combined
forces with many names of the techno scene of Greece, like:
Mikael Delta, Nico Patrelakis, ION, DJ Savage, as well as,
with Terry Francis. 5 mixed cds have been released through
the last years for music magazines, like LEMON, FREEZE and
FAST FORWARD including many tracks of his productions. His
latest single, "Techniques" is included at the U-Matic
club's compilation cd, released on June 2001 from ntrop
recordings. His new e.p. project has been released on
October 2001 from Kinetik records under the name "The S.M.
Project", which is a collaboration with another pioneer
Greek techno producer, DJ Savage. Another one single of his
named "Uncover me" will be soon released from Terry Francis
					own label "Wiggle".

In mid 2001 he had the chance to write the music for a
theatrical play in Athens. He joined the "Theater of the
South" and wrote the entire music for the show "God is a DJ"
by the German author Falk Richter.

As a promoter, he collaborated with many big names of the
underground club scene such as: Terry Francis, Terry Lee
Brown jr., Mix Master Morris, Stuart McMillan (Slam), Mark
Broom, The Stickmen, Steve Bug, Gideon Jackson, Kenny
Larkin, Jamie Anderson, Tony Thomas, Brenda Russell, Jim
Masters, Eddie Richards, Nick Rapaciolli, Billy Nasty, Craig
Richards, Juan Atkins, Jeff Mills, Marco Carolla, Dave
Clarke, Dave Angel, Rino Cerrone and more.
